CAT PROTECTION POLLENSA

We’d like to gently remind everyone that we do not have a refuge, shelter or sanctuary. We’re just a small team of volunteers doing our best to help sick, abandoned, or at-risk cats in the Pollensa area, using whatever space we have in our own homes. That means when we say we can’t take in more cats, it’s because we quite literally have no space left - every spare room or bathroom we have is already full. As much as we’d love to take in every cat, it’s just not possible.

But this is where you can help:
• Offer temporary care (foster) a cat in need. It's incredibly rewarding!
• Ask friends or family to help.
• Keep an eye on local street cats.
• Take injured cats to a vet yourself, if you can.
Donate and contribute towards treatment or food costs
• Adopt one of our cats already in foster care. The more cats we find homes for, the more space we have to help even more cats.

Please also remember, many street cats are healthy and happy living outdoors with community support. For them, the street is home. Unless they are sick, injured, or in danger, the kindest thing you can do is simply look out for them and let them be.

We don’t have an endless pot of money. Every rescue happens thanks to our supporters generosity. Thank you for helping us:)

About Cat Protection Pollensa

Cat Protection Pollensa is comprised of a small team of dedicated volunteers who are striving to help and support the local cat colonies and control the overall population growth of Pollensa, Puerto Pollensa and Cala San Vicente's street cats using a Trap, Neuter, Return programme. We have many requests for help but unfortunately cannot always respond immediately due to limited resources. However, we can always signpost people to a local vet and will offer advice if required.

We do not have a refuge facility but we do try to rescue vulnerable cats and kittens from dangerous situations where possible and rely on kind foster carers for support in these situations. If you feel you could offer a cat in need a foster home please contact us. Unfortunately, we are not able to cover other areas of Mallorca outside of the municipality of Pollensa as we do not have the volunteers or funding to do so.

We rely solely on the generosity of others to support and fund our work which includes feeding, veterinary care, medicine where needed and our trap, neuter, return programme.

We currently receive no funding from the local council to help us in our work.

FEEDING PROGRAMME

There are over 100 colonies being cared for by our kind volunteers within the local community.
If you are able to donate food to our feeding programme please drop off at the Bellavista Pension in

Puerto Pollenca.

If you would you like to help and learn more about what we do and how you can get involved, we would love to hear from you.

TRAP, NEUTER, RETURN PROGRAMME

Our associations' prime objective is to keep the colonies under control through a trap, neuter, return programme. Limiting population growth helps to keep street cats healthy and safe and it is massively beneficial to the local community.

We are always looking for help with trapping and full training can be given.

It is hugely rewarding work and a can be an enjoyable team experience.

Please email us to find out more.

ADOPTION AND FOSTERING PROGRAMME

Whilst our aim is to maintain healthy cats and kittens in their natural environment, occasionally we have to rescue vulnerable cats and kittens from dangerous situations or rehabilitate them. We are therefore always in need of foster carers, particularly in the summer months - for both short term or long term.

If you're on an extended holiday and think you can help us, please get in touch, we would love to hear from you.
